The Elkin Buckin' Elks (Elkin, NC) volleyball nudged the visiting North Surry Greyhounds (Mount Airy, NC), 3-2 in Wednesday's non-league outing.

With the win, Elkin upgrades its record to 7-12 on the year. The Buckin' Elks host Alleghany (Sparta, NC) to face the Trojans in a Northwest 1A outing on Thursday, October 6. The Trojans go into the outing with a record of 14-3. Alleghany won 3-0 in their recent league outing against East Wilkes (Ronda, NC)

The Greyhounds now own a 9-10 record. They play next when they host Surry Central for a Foothills 2A outing on Tuesday, October 11. North Surry will face a Golden Eagles squad coming off a 3-2 league win over North Wilkes (Hays, NC). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 9-8.
