In Wednesday's non-league battle, the host Hawthorne Cougars volleyball team scored a 3-1 triumph over the Morningside Monarchs.

The Cougars (6-3) will now prepare for their battle against Inglewood (Inglewood, CA). The Sentinels come into the Ocean battle with a 3-11 record. In their last battle, Inglewood lost by Beverly Hills (Beverly Hills, CA), 3-0, in a league battle.

Next, the Monarchs clash with the Centennial Apaches (Compton, CA) in a non-league battle, on Friday, October 7. Morningside will attempt to advance on its 2-5 season record. The Apaches come into the battle with a 0-5 record after their 3-0 league loss to Leuzinger (Lawndale, CA).
