The Letcher County Central Cougars / Lady Cougars (Whitesburg, KY) volleyball nudged the visiting Johnson Central Golden Eagles (Paintsville, KY), 3-2 in Wednesday's non-league outing.

With the win, Letcher County Central upgrades its record to 20-4 on the year. The Cougars / Lady Cougars host Knott County Central (Hindman, KY) to face the Patriots in a District 53 outing on Thursday, October 6. The Patriots go into the outing with a record of 8-7.

The Golden Eagles now own a 17-14 record. They play next when they travel to East Ridge for a non-league outing on Monday, October 10.
