Texas High School Volleyball - Mercedes edged by Porter

The Porter Cowboys held off the host Mercedes Tigers volleyball team by a score of 3-2 in Wednesday's league test.

The Cowboys now have a 9-17 record. They put it on the line next when they host Pace for a 5A Region IV District 32 contest on Saturday, October 8. Porter will battle a Vikings squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Harlingen South (Harlingen, TX). The Vikings record now stands at 22-8.

With the loss, Mercedes moves to 4-17 on the year. The Tigers travel to Lopez (Brownsville, TX) to battle the Lobos in a 5A Region IV District 32 contest on Saturday, October 8. The Lobos go into the contest with a record of 20-18. Lopez lost 3-0 in their recent league contest against Veterans Memorial (Brownsville, TX)
