In Wednesday's league battle, the visiting Villa Maria Academy Hurricanes volleyball team scored a 3-1 triumph over the Merion Mercy Academy Golden Bears.

The Hurricanes (9-1) will now prepare for their battle against Lower Merion (Ardmore, PA). The Aces come into the non-league battle with a 12-2 record. In their last battle, Lower Merion achieved victory over Springfield (Springfield, PA), 3-0, in a league battle.

Next, the Golden Bears clash with the Villa Joseph Marie Jems (Holland, PA) in a Catholic Academies battle, on Friday, October 7. Merion Mercy Academy will attempt to advance on its 2-7 season record. The Jems come into the battle with a 5-4 record after their 3-1 league loss to Gwynedd Mercy Academy (Gwynedd Valley, PA).
