In Thursday's non-league challenge, the Central Davidson Spartans (Lexington, NC) volleyball team toppled the host Montgomery Central Timberwolves (Troy, NC), by a count of 2-0.

The Spartans (16-3) will now prepare for their challenge against South Davidson (Denton, NC). The Wildcats enter the non-league challenge with a 2-12 record. In their last challenge, South Davidson went down by East Davidson (Thomasville, NC), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Timberwolves encounter the Oak Grove Grizzlies (Winston-Salem, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, October 10. Montgomery Central will attempt to move on its 7-10 season record. The Grizzlies enter the challenge with a 20-0 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Ledford (Thomasville, NC).
