Springfield Spartans (Akron, OH) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Ravenna Ravens (Ravenna, OH), 1-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Spartans face the Southeast Pirates (Ravenna, OH) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, October 7. Springfield will attempt to better on its 6-9 season record. The Pirates enter the challenge with a 7-6 record after their 3-0 league loss to Lake Center Christian (Hartville, OH).

The Ravens now have a 1-15 record.
