Salem Witches (Salem, MA) backers went home satisfied Thursday as they saw their soccer squad get by the host Winthrop Vikings (Winthrop, MA), 2-1 in a league test.

The Witches now hold a 4-6 record. They play next when they host Salem Academy Charter for a non-league test on Monday, October 9. Salem will meet a Navigator squad coming off a 4-1 league win over Prospect Hill Academy (Cambridge, MA). The Navigator record now stands at 6-6.

With the loss, Winthrop drops to 3-6 on the season. The Vikings travel to Masconomet Regional (Boxford, MA) to meet the Chieftains in a Northeast test on Tuesday, October 17. The Chieftains come into the test with a record of 11-0.
