In Thursday's non-league contest, the Magdalena Steers (Magdalena, NM) volleyball squad knocked off the host Corona/Vaughn (Corona, NM), by a margin of 3-0.

Next up, the Steers battle the Quemado Eagles (Quemado, NM) in a 1A District 2 contest, on Friday, October 6. Magdalena will attempt to better on its 8-4 season record. The Eagles come into the contest with a 9-3 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Ramah (Ramah, NM).

With the loss, Corona/Vaughn drops to 1-9 on the campaign. The travel to Mountainair (Mountainair, NM) to battle the Mustangs in a 1A District 3 contest on Monday, October 9. The Mustangs come into the contest with a record of 0-11. Mountainair lost 3-0 in their recent non-league contest against To'hajiilee (To'hajiilee, NM)
