The Highlands Highlanders volleyball team (Highlands, NC), was dropped 3-0 in Thursday's league challenge with the visiting Hiwassee Dam Eagles (Murphy, NC)

The Eagles (6-12) will now prepare for their challenge against Cherokee (Cherokee, NC). The Braves enter the non-league challenge with a 16-3 record. In their last challenge, Cherokee defeated Swain County (Bryson City, NC), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Highlanders encounter the Blue Ridge Early College Bobcats (Cashiers, NC) in a Little Smoky Mountain 1A challenge, on Tuesday, October 10. Highlands will attempt to move on its 4-15 season record. The Bobcats enter the challenge with a 5-9 record after their 3-2 league win over Nantahala (Topton, NC).
