The Maine West Warriors volleyball team (Des Plaines, IL), was nudged 2-1 in Thursday's league challenge with the visiting Vernon Hills Cougars (Vernon Hills, IL)

The Cougars (12-15) will now prepare for their challenge against Highland Park (Highland Park, IL). The Giants enter the Central Suburban challenge with a 4-15 record. In their last challenge, Highland Park nipped Lake Forest (Lake Forest, IL), 2-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Warriors encounter the Niles West Wolves (Skokie, IL) in a Central Suburban challenge, on Tuesday, October 10. Maine West will attempt to move on its 4-19 season record. The Wolves enter the challenge with a 20-9 record after their 2-0 non-league win over South Elgin (South Elgin, IL).
