The crowd at Thursday's league bout between the Piggott Mohawks (Piggott, AR) and the visiting Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR), saw Piggott's volleyball squad nip Newport by a tally of 3-2.

With the win, Piggott upgrades its record to 7-10 on the year. The Mohawks travel to Walnut Ridge (Walnut Ridge, AR) to play the Bobcats in a 3A Northeast bout on Tuesday, October 10. The Bobcats go into the bout with a record of 14-6.

The Greyhounds now own a 6-13 record. They play next when they travel to Conway for a non-league bout on Saturday, October 7. Newport will play a Wampus Cats squad coming off a 3-1 league win over Cabot (Cabot, AR). The Wampus Cats record now stands at 21-3.
