In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Sardis Lions volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Gaston Bulldogs.

The Lions (20-13) will now prepare for their challenge against Glencoe (Glencoe, AL). The Yellowjackets come into the non-league challenge with a 22-13 record. In their last challenge, Glencoe beat Cleburne County (Heflin, AL), 2-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Bulldogs play the Hokes Bluff Eagles (Hokes Bluff, AL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, October 5. Gaston will attempt to upgrade on its 2-16 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 4-14 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to White Plains (Anniston, AL).
