Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Independent Panthers (Wichita, KS) and the host South Haven Cardinals (South Haven, KS), observed Independent's volleyball team hold off South Haven by a count of 2-1.

The Panthers (7-12) will now prepare for their contest against Norwich (Norwich, KS). The Eagles come into the non-league bout with a 7-11 record. In their last bout, Norwich was nudged by Cunningham (Cunningham, KS), 3-0, in a league bout.

With the loss, South Haven drops to 4-16 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Central Christian (Hutchinson, KS) to clash with the Cougars in a non-league bout on Saturday, October 5. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 6-16. Central Christian lost 2-0 in their recent non-league bout against Trinity (Hutchinson, KS)
