In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Western Dubuque Bobcats volleyball team scored a 2-0 victory over the West Branch Bears.

The Bobcats (12-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Waverly-Shell Rock (Waverly, IA). The Go-Hawks enter the non-league challenge with a 11-16 record. In their last challenge, Waverly-Shell Rock beat AGWSR (Ackley, IA), 2-1, in a non-league outing.

With the loss, West Branch drops to 5-17 on the campaign. The Bears host Wilton (Wilton, IA) to play the Beavers in a non-league outing on Tuesday, October 8. The Beavers come into the outing with a record of 21-3. Wilton won 3-0 in their recent non-league outing against West Liberty (West Liberty, IA)
