In Thursday's non-league battle, the visiting Marvin Ridge Mavericks volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Porter Ridge Pirates.
The Mavericks (15-1) will now prepare for their battle against Piedmont (Monroe, NC). The Panthers come into the non-league battle with a 7-5 record. In their last battle, Piedmont defeated Sun Valley (Monroe, NC), 2-1, in a non-league battle.
Next, the Pirates encounter the Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC) in a non-league battle, on Tuesday, October 11. Porter Ridge will attempt to move on its 8-6 season record. The Warriors come into the battle with a 6-3 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC).
