Civic Memorial Eagles (Bethalto, IL) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team knock off the host Jersey Panthers (Jerseyville, IL), 3-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Eagles confront the Mater Dei Knights (Breese, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, October 8. Civic Memorial will attempt to better on its 19-4 season record. The Knights enter the challenge with a 4-10 record after their 1-1 non-league Belleville West (Belleville, IL).

The Panthers now have a 8-12 record. They take the field next when they host Highland for a Mississippi Valley challenge on Tuesday, October 11.
