The crowd at Thursday's league match between the Cartersville Hurricanes (Cartersville, GA) and the visiting Cass Colonels (White, GA), saw Cartersville's softball squad nip Cass by a count of 5-1.

The Hurricanes now sport a 15-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Sprayberry for a non-league match on Monday, October 10. Cartersville will face a Yellow Jackets squad coming off a 10-2 league loss to Pope (Marietta, GA). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 13-13.

With the loss, Cass falls to 9-18 on the campaign. The Colonels travel to Woodland (Cartersville, GA) to face the Wildcats in a 5A Region 7 match on Tuesday, October 11. The Wildcats enter the match with a record of 14-15. Woodland won 13-2 in their recent league match against Dalton (Dalton, GA)
