In Thursday's league contest, the McCool Junction Mustangs (McCool Junction, NE) volleyball squad nudged the host Giltner Hornets (Giltner, NE), by a margin of 2-1.

Next up, the Mustangs face the Shelby-Rising City Huskies (Shelby, NE) in a Crossroads contest, on Thursday, October 6. McCool Junction will attempt to better on its 8-15 season record. The Huskies go into the contest with a 14-7 record after their 3-2 non-league win over Schuyler (Schuyler, NE).
