In Thursday's league battle, the host Kankakee Kays volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Thornton Wildcats.

The Kays (15-8) will now prepare for their battle against Bloom (Chicago Heights, IL). The Blazing Trojan come into the Southland battle with a 12-10 record. In their last battle, Bloom achieved victory over Thornton Fractional North (Calumet City, IL), 2-0, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Wildcats clash with the Thornridge Falcons (Dolton, IL) in a non-league battle, on Tuesday, October 11. Thornton will attempt to advance on its 7-14 season record. The Falcons come into the battle with a 0-9 record after their 2-0 league loss to Crete-Monee (Crete, IL).
