In Friday's league game, the Mount Desert Island Trojans (Mount Desert, ME) football team smashed the visiting Spruce Mountain Phoenix (Jay, ME), by a final score of 50-14.

The Trojans (5-1) will now prepare for their game against Morse (Bath, ME). The Shipbuilders come into the 8-Man Large North (8 Man) game with a 5-1 record. In their last game, Morse overwhelmed Mountain Valley (Rumford, ME), 34-8, in a league game.

The Phoenix now hold a 0-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Camden Hills for a 8-Man Large North (8 Man) game on Saturday, October 14. Spruce Mountain will battle a Windjammers team coming off a 34-6 league win over Waterville (Waterville, ME). The Windjammers record now stands at 7-1.
