Fans at Monday's league battle between the Slippery Rock Rockets (Slippery Rock, PA) and the visiting Hickory Hornets (Hermitage, PA), saw Slippery Rock's soccer squad hold off Hickory by a count of 2-1.

The Rockets (10-3) will now prepare for their battle against Greenville (Greenville, PA). The Trojans enter the District 10 Region 2 battle with a 6-8 record. In their last battle, Greenville tipped Grove City (Grove City, PA), 4-3, in a league battle.

Next up, the Hornets battle the Conneaut Area Eagles (Linesville, PA) in a District 10 Region 2 battle, on Wednesday, October 8. Hickory will attempt to upgrade on its 10-4 season record. The Eagles enter the battle with a 3-12 record after their 8-2 league loss to Sharon (Sharon, PA).
