The Tupelo Golden Wave (Tupelo, MS) football edged the host Starkville Yellowjackets (Starkville, MS), 24-17 in Friday's league bout.

In their next game, the Golden Wave face the Madison Central Jaguars (Madison, MS) in a 6A Region 2 bout, on Friday, October 14. Tupelo will attempt to move on its 7-0 season record. The Jaguars enter the bout with a 4-2 record after their 38-31 league loss to Clinton (Clinton, MS).
