Northwestern Regional Highlanders (Winsted, CT) fans were thrilled Friday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Gilbert Yellowjackets (Winsted, CT), 8-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Highlanders confront the Housatonic Mountaineers (Falls Village, CT) in a Berkshire challenge, on Tuesday, October 11. Northwestern Regional will attempt to better on its 3-6 season record.

The Yellowjackets now have a 2-7 record. They take the field next when they host Shepaug Valley for a Berkshire challenge on Tuesday, October 11. Gilbert will confront a Spartans team coming off a 3-1 league loss to Nonnewaug (Woodbury, CT). The Spartans record now stands at 7-3.
