The Wyoming Valley West Spartans soccer squad scored 7 points and held the visiting Hazleton Area Cougars to 1 in the Spartans league victory on Monday.
The Spartans now possess a 9-6 record. They play next when they travel to Crestwood for a Wyoming Valley 1 bout on Thursday, October 10. Wyoming Valley West will play a Comets squad coming off a 19-0 non-league win over Dunmore (Dunmore, PA). The Comets record now stands at 10-2.
With the loss, Hazleton Area moves to 1-15 on the year. The Cougars host Pittston (Pittston, PA) to play the Patriots in a non-league bout on Thursday, October 10. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 1-9.
