Fans at Monday's non-league battle between the Schalmont Sabres (Schenectady, NY) and the visiting Glens Falls Black Bears (Glens Falls, NY), saw Schalmont's soccer squad hold off Glens Falls by a count of 2-1.

The Sabres (9-1) will now prepare for their battle against Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk (Ravena, NY). The Indians enter the Colonial Council battle with a 1-7 record. In their last battle, Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk was edged by Mohonasen (Schenectady, NY), 6-0, in a league battle.

Next up, the Black Bears battle the Schuylerville Horses (Schuylerville, NY) in a Foothills Council- North battle, on Wednesday, October 9. Glens Falls will attempt to upgrade on its 6-6 season record. The Horses enter the battle with a 6-4 record after their 5-0 non-league win over Stillwater (Stillwater, NY).
