The Lumberton Pirates soccer squad scored 6 points and held the host Gray's Creek Bears to 2 in the Pirates league victory on Monday.
The Pirates now hold a 14-4 record. They play next when they travel to Douglas Byrd for a United Eight 3A/4A bout on Wednesday, October 9. Lumberton will play a Eagles squad coming off a 10-1 league loss to Cape Fear (Fayetteville, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 0-12.
With the loss, Gray's Creek moves to 7-6 on the year. The Bears travel to South View (Hope Mills, NC) to play the Tigers in a United Eight 3A/4A bout on Wednesday, October 9. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 7-10. South View won 2-1 in their recent league bout against Purnell Swett (Pembroke, NC)
