In Tuesday's league challenge, the visiting Mecklenburg County Phoenix volleyball team scored a 2-0 victory over the Bassett Bengals.

The Phoenix (5-9) will now prepare for their test against Halifax County (South Boston, VA). The Comets go into the test with a 12-4 record. In their last test, Halifax County achieved victory over George Washington (Danville, VA), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Bengals meet the Magna Vista Warriors (Ridgeway, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, October 9. Bassett will attempt to upgrade on its 2-12 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 8-7 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Tunstall (Dry Fork, VA).
