Fans at Tuesday's non-league contest between the Pequot Lakes Patriots (Pequot Lakes, MN) and the host Pierz Pioneers (Pierz, MN), observed Pequot Lakes's volleyball team hold off Pierz by a count of 2-1.

The Patriots (1-0) will now prepare for their battle against Albany (Albany, MN). The Huskies go into the non-league battle with a 0-0 record.

The Pioneers now own a 0-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Little Falls for a non-league challenge on Thursday, October 9.
