Vermont High School Soccer - Essex nudges Champlain Valley Union

In Tuesday's league outing, the visiting Essex Hornets soccer squad scored a tight 2-1 victory over the Champlain Valley Union Redhawks.
The Hornets (8-3) will now prepare for their outing against Mt. Mansfield (Jericho, VT). The Cougars go into the Metro outing with a 5-5 record. In their last outing, Mt. Mansfield got by Burlington (Burlington, VT), 1-0, in a league outing.
Next up, the Redhawks confront the St. Johnsbury Academy Hilltoppers (St. Johnsbury, VT) in a Metro game, on Saturday, October 11. Champlain Valley Union will attempt to advance on its 7-2 season record. The Hilltoppers come into the game with a 5-5 record after their 2-2 non-league Burr & Burton (Manchester, VT).
