Newton Eagles (Newton, IL) boosters exited the stadium pleased Tuesday as they witnessed their soccer team knock off the host Mt. Carmel Golden Aces (Mt. Carmel, IL), 3-0 in a league outing.

The Eagles (14-4) will now prepare for their outing against Salem (Salem, IL). The Wildcats go into the non-league outing with a 16-2 record. In their last outing, Salem got by East Alton-Wood River (Wood River, IL), 11-0, in a league outing.

Next up, the Golden Aces confront the Harrisburg Bulldogs (Harrisburg, IL) in a non-league test, on Thursday, October 9. Mt. Carmel will attempt to advance on its 0-11 season record. The Bulldogs come into the test with a 2-11 record after their 7-1 non-league loss to Vienna/Goreville (Vienna, IL).
