Fans at Tuesday's league contest between the Big Spring Steers (Big Spring, TX) and the visiting Lake View Chiefs/Maidens (San Angelo, TX), observed Big Spring's volleyball team hold off Lake View by a count of 3-2.

The Steers (13-15) will now prepare for their contest against Liberty (Lubbock, TX). The Patriots enter the 4A Region I District 5 contest with a 35-2 record. In their last contest, Liberty tipped Levelland (Levelland, TX), 3-0, in a league battle.

The Chiefs/Maidens now own a 6-17 record. They put it on the line next when they host Estacado for a 4A Region I District 5 battle on Saturday, October 11. Lake View will encounter a Matadors squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to Big Spring (Big Spring, TX). The Matadors record now stands at 6-19.
