The Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA) volleyball knocked off the visiting Bland County Bears (Rocky Gap, VA), 3-0 in Tuesday's league bout.
The Spartans now possess a 15-1 record. They play next when they host Fort Chiswell for a Mountain Empire bout on Thursday, October 9. Giles will battle a Pioneers squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to Grayson County (Independence, VA). The Pioneers record now stands at 4-11.
The Bears (8-5) will now prepare for their match against George Wythe (Wytheville, VA). The Maroons enter the Mountain Empire match with a 3-11 record. In their last match, George Wythe was outscored by Auburn (Riner, VA), 3-0, in a league match.
