The Tigers (14-3) will now prepare for their contest against Hammond (Hammond, LA). The Tornadoes enter the non-league contest with a 13-9 record. In their last contest, Hammond was knocked off by Live Oak (Watson, LA), 3-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Tigers battle the Amite Warriors (Amite, LA) in a Division IV District 7 contest, on Thursday, October 9. Independence will attempt to move on its 4-9 season record. The Warriors enter the contest with a 4-7 record after their 3-0 league loss to St. Thomas Aquinas (Hammond, LA).
