The Comets now possess a 5-12 record. They play next when they host Mecklenburg County for a Piedmont bout on Thursday, October 9. Halifax County will clash with a Phoenix team coming off a 3-2 league win over Bassett (Bassett, VA). The Phoenix record now stands at 8-8.

With the loss, George Washington drops to 0-14 on the campaign. The Eagles host Tunstall (Dry Fork, VA) to battle the Trojans in a Piedmont match on Thursday, October 9. The Trojans enter the match with a record of 11-4. Tunstall won 3-2 in their recent league match against Magna Vista (Ridgeway, VA)
