In Tuesday's league bout, the Spurger Pirates (Spurger, TX) volleyball team overcame the visiting High Island Cardinals (High Island, TX), by a count of 3-1.

The Pirates (3-10) will now prepare for their battle against Hull-Daisetta (Daisetta, TX). The Bobcats go into the 1A Region IV District 25 battle with a 5-3 record. In their last battle, Hull-Daisetta achieved victory over Burkeville (Burkeville, TX), 3-0, in a league battle.

The Cardinals now own a 3-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Burkeville for a 1A Region IV District 25 contest on Friday, October 10. High Island will meet a Mustangs team coming off a 3-0 league loss to Hull-Daisetta (Daisetta, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 0-10.
