In Saturday's non-league contest, the Sault Area Blue Devils (Sault St. Marie, MI) volleyball squad nudged the host Houghton Gremlins (Houghton, MI), by a margin of 2-1.

Next up, the Blue Devils face the Escanaba Eskymos (Escanaba, MI) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, October 8. Sault Area will attempt to better on its 13-7 season record.

With the loss, Houghton moves to 3-3 on the year. The Gremlins travel to Airline (Bossier City, LA) to face the Vikings in a non-league contest on Tuesday, October 11. The Vikings go into the contest with a record of 4-5.
