South Dakota High School Volleyball - Burke over Avon

Fans at Tuesday's league contest between the Burke Cougars (Burke, SD) and the host Avon Pirates (Avon, SD), observed Burke's volleyball team top Avon by a count of 3-0.

The Cougars (23-1) will now prepare for their contest against Andes Central/Dakota Christian (Lake Andes, SD). The enter the B Region 5 contest with a 12-8 record.

Next, the Pirates battle the Bridgewater/Emery/Ethan Seahawks (Emery, SD) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, October 10. Avon will attempt to move on its 11-11 season record. The Seahawks enter the contest with a 13-1 record after their 3-1 non-league win over Sioux Falls Lutheran (Sioux Falls, SD).
