The East Duplin Panthers soccer squad scored 3 points and held the host Pender Patriots to 1 in the Panthers league victory on Wednesday.
The Panthers now hold a 9-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to South Lenoir for a East Central 3A/4A game on Monday, October 13. East Duplin will face a Blue Devils team coming off a 4-3 league loss to Southwest Onslow (Jacksonville, NC). The Blue Devils record now stands at 5-8.
The Patriots (5-9) will now prepare for their game against Union (Rose Hill, NC). The Spartans come into the non-league game with a 11-5 record. In their last game, Union edged Lakewood (Roseboro, NC), 5-3, in a league game.
