The Mount Airy Granite Bears smashed the host East Surry Cardinals soccer team by a tally of 6-1 in Wednesday's league challenge.

The Granite Bears now hold a 12-2 record. They play next when they travel to Surry Central for a Northwest 3A/4A challenge on Thursday, October 9. Mount Airy will encounter a Golden Eagles squad coming off a 3-2 league win over West Stokes (King, NC). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 7-5.

With the loss, East Surry moves to 5-11 on the year. The Cardinals travel to Forbush (East Bend, NC) to encounter the Falcons in a Northwest 3A/4A challenge on Monday, October 13. The Falcons go into the challenge with a record of 12-5. Forbush won 2-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Forsyth Home Educators (Winston-Salem, NC)
