Fans at Wednesday's league contest between the Marist Spartans (Eugene, OR) and the visiting Cottage Grove Lions (Cottage Grove, OR), observed Marist's volleyball team top Cottage Grove by a count of 3-0.

The Spartans (15-1) will now prepare for their contest against Seaside (Seaside, OR). The Seagulls enter the non-league contest with a 0-13 record. In their last contest, Seaside was knocked off by Scappoose (Scappoose, OR), 3-0, in a league contest.

Next, the Lions battle the Marshfield Pirates (Coos Bay, OR) in a 4A Sky Em battle, on Monday, October 13. Cottage Grove will attempt to improve on its 9-5 season record. The Pirates go into the battle with a 8-6 record after their 3-0 league win over North Bend (North Bend, OR).
