The Esperanza Aztecs volleyball team scored 3 points and restricted the host El Modena Vanguards to 2 in the Aztecs non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Aztecs now have a 7-12 record. They play next when they host Brea Olinda for a North Hills outing on Thursday, October 9. Esperanza will play a Wildcats team coming off a 3-1 league loss to El Modena (Orange, CA). The Wildcats record now stands at 15-12.

With the loss, El Modena drops to 8-17 on the campaign. The Vanguards host Villa Park (Villa Park, CA) to play the Spartans in a North Hills game on Thursday, October 9. The Spartans go into the game with a record of 10-10. Villa Park won 3-0 in their recent league game against Pacifica (Garden Grove, CA)
