The crowd at Monday's league bout between the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) and the host South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC), saw Alexander Central's volleyball squad beat South Caldwell by a tally of 3-1.

With the win, Alexander Central upgrades its record to 4-14 on the year. The Cougars host Hibriten (Lenoir, NC) to play the Panthers in a Northwestern 3A/4A bout on Wednesday, October 11. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 11-8. Hibriten lost 3-0 in their recent league bout against Watauga (Boone, NC)

The Spartans now own a 10-8 record. They play next when they host Ashe County for a Northwestern 3A/4A bout on Wednesday, October 11. South Caldwell will play a Huskies squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Huskies record now stands at 15-3.
