Fans at Wednesday's non-league battle between the Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC) and the host North Wilkes Vikings (Hays, NC), saw Alleghany's soccer squad knock off North Wilkes by a count of 3-1.

The Trojans (6-4) will now prepare for their battle against North Stokes (Danbury, NC). The Vikings enter the Northwest 1A battle with a 0-12 record. In their last battle, North Stokes by Starmount (Boonville, NC), 9-0, in a league battle.

Next up, the Vikings battle the West Wilkes Blackhawks (Millers Creek, NC) in a Foothills 2A battle, on Monday, October 14. North Wilkes will attempt to upgrade on its 4-10 season record. The Blackhawks enter the battle with a 5-6 record after their 1-1 league East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC).
