Southern Cayuga Chiefs (Poplar Ridge, NY) backers exited the stadium pleased Wednesday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Groton Red Hawks (Groton, NY), 6-0 in a league test.

With the triumph, Southern Cayuga advances its record to 9-1 on the campaign. The Chiefs host Newark Valley (Newark Valley, NY) to clash with the Cardinals in a Interscholastic Athletic Conference (IAC) test on Friday, October 11. The Cardinals come into the test with a record of 3-2. Newark Valley lost 3-2 in their recent league test against Odessa-Montour (Odessa, NY)

The Red Hawks now have a 1-11 record. They take the field next when they travel to Waverly for a non-league test on Tuesday, October 15.
