Fans at Wednesday's league battle between the Marvin Ridge Mavericks (Waxhaw, NC) and the host Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC), saw Marvin Ridge's soccer squad triumph over Sun Valley by a count of 6-0.

The Mavericks (8-4) will now prepare for their battle against Weddington (Matthews, NC). The Warriors enter the Southern Carolina 4A battle with a 6-4 record. In their last battle, Weddington tipped Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC), 2-0, in a league battle.

Next up, the Spartans battle the Central Academy Cougars (Monroe, NC) in a non-league battle, on Thursday, October 10. Sun Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record. The Cougars enter the battle with a 7-8 record after their 4-2 league win over West Stanly (Oakboro, NC).
