Fans at Wednesday's non-league battle between the Piedmont Community Charter Patriots (Gastonia, NC) and the host Thomas Jefferson Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC), saw Piedmont Community Charter's soccer squad knock off Thomas Jefferson by a count of 2-0.
The Patriots (6-3) will now prepare for their battle against Sugar Creek (Charlotte, NC). The Wildcats enter the Metro Eight 1A battle with a 5-8 record. In their last battle, Sugar Creek tipped Queen's Grant (Matthews, NC), 5-1, in a league battle.
Next up, the Gryphons battle the Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) in a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A battle, on Monday, October 14. Thomas Jefferson will attempt to upgrade on its 12-2 season record. The Golden Lions enter the battle with a 6-7 record after their 4-0 league win over East Gaston (Mt. Holly, NC).
