Fans at Wednesday's league contest between the Liberty Lions (Jackson, NJ) and the visiting Lakewood Piners (Lakewood, NJ), observed Liberty's volleyball team hold off Lakewood by a tally of 2-1.

The Lions (4-14) will now prepare for their contest against Donovan Catholic (Toms River, NJ). The Griffins enter the Shore B - South contest with a 10-4 record. In their last contest, Donovan Catholic got by Howell (Farmingdale, NJ), 2-1, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Piners meet the Pinelands Regional Wildcats (Tuckerton, NJ) in a Shore B - South contest, on Friday, October 11. Lakewood will attempt to upgrade on its 5-8 season record. The Wildcats enter the contest with a 16-2 record after their 2-1 league win over Barnegat (Barnegat, NJ).
