Newton North Tigers (Newtonville, MA) followers went home pleased Thursday as they saw their football team nip the visiting Needham Rockets (Needham, MA), 12-7 in a non-league match.

The Tigers (3-3) will now prepare for their match against Wellesley (Wellesley, MA). The Raiders enter the Bay State - Carey battle with a 2-3 record. In their last battle, Wellesley nipped Brookline (Brookline, MA), 41-19, in a league battle.

The Rockets now own a 0-5 record. They take the field next when they host Braintree for a Bay State - Herget match on Friday, October 17. Needham will play a Wamps team coming off a 15-6 non-league win over Durfee (Fall River, MA). The Wamps record now stands at 1-4.
