The Moon Area Tigers ice hockey team scored 3 points and held the host Freeport Yellowjackets to 1 in the Tigers league victory on Thursday.

The Tigers now hold a 2-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Meadville for a PIHL Class A Blue bout on Monday, October 13. Moon Area will play a Bulldogs team coming off a 4-3 league win over Indiana (Indiana, PA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 1-2.

With the defeat, Freeport drops to 1-1 on the year. The Yellowjackets travel to Montour (McKees Rocks, PA) to clash with the Spartans in a PIHL Class A Blue match on Monday, October 13. The Spartans enter the match with a record of 0-1. Montour lost 5-0 in their recent league match against Quaker Valley (Leetsdale, PA)
